Adriana Sanford, Dual LL.M., J.D.

Adriana Sanford is a Chilean American lawyer. She has multiple law degrees, including a dual LL.M. in Taxation and International & Comparative Law from Georgetown University Law Center and a J.D. from Notre Dame Law School, where she attended the yearlong Concannon Program of International Law in London. Sanford is fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese, and has working knowledge of Italian. In 2019, she received the CSWY Cybersecurity Woman Law & Privacy Professional of the Year Award. Sanford has both top-tier international law firm with White & Case LLP and in-house legal experience, having held positions as Assistant General Counsel at a financial institution and Regional Latin American Counsel for a Fortune 10 company. She also served as external counsel to major US and foreign companies in various industries, including agricultural, seafood, winery, construction, security, and manufacturing sectors and is currently remote with the Chilean law firm Puga Ortiz.

In addition, Sanford is an American Program Bureau Keynote Speaker and Thought Leader, who has delivered over 150 keynote addresses through various international professional associations and global nonprofits. She delivered the keynote addresses at the Association of Corporate Counsel’s 19th Annual SuperConference in Chicago, ISACA’s Latin America Computer Audit Control and Security Conference in Mexico City, and events hosted by the prominent Latin American think tank CIEPLAN in Chile. Additionally, Sanford has an impressive track record of teaching law, privacy, and management courses to over 7,000 graduate and undergraduate students across several prestigious universities, including Pepperdine, Arizona State University, Universidad de Talca (Chile), Loyola Marymount University, the University of Oklahoma, the Barrett Honors College, and Claremont Graduate University (CGU), where she also currently serves as a Senior Fellow. Sanford also founded Data Privacy Help LLC and collaborates with CGU and ISSA-LA to offer classes in English and Spanish to underrepresented and underprivileged groups.

Sanford has been highlighted in various publications, including Top Cyber News Magazine, the International Enforcement Law Reporter (IELR), and the March 2023 edition of Cyber Security Tribe, as part of the lead-up to International Women’s Day (IWD). She was also featured in “Women in Security: Changing the Face of Technology and Innovation,” which is part of The Springer Women in Engineering and Science book series. Sanford has co-authored two books on business ethics, cybersecurity, and global threats. The books, Business Ethics: A Guide to Surviving Storms, Challenges, & Ethical Risks and Ética Empresarial, were made available through the ISACA bookstore and were adopted by the Institute for Supply Management. She also serves on several charitable boards and currently serves as Executive Director of ISSA-Los Angeles. Sanford previously served as a delegate to the APEC CEO Summit in Chile, on the board of directors of Amnesty International USA, and as a committee member to the World Economic Forum for the Partnering Against Corruption Initiative –Building Foundations of Trust & Integrity (Latin America).
