Cindy Satterfield is a Director in Stroz Friedberg’s proactive security practice based out of the Dallas, Texas office. Helping clients assess, define and institutionalize information security and risk management strategies, Ms. Satterfield has over 15 years in information security with specialization in security strategy, program design, governance and application security. In her capacity at Stroz Friedberg, Ms. Satterfield proactively helps organizations better assess, manage and prioritize their data, network and other cyber challenges in accordance with their tolerance for risk.
Before joining Stroz Friedberg, Ms. Satterfield was a Security Advisor for Phillips 66. She consulted globally with multiple business units to implement Identity Theft, Cyber Security, Data Leakage and Data Security best practices while building security controls to protect information assets from unauthorized disclosure, loss or improper modification. Ms. Satterfield implemented a comprehensive application security program and was responsible for the global cyber security awareness and training program.
Ms. Satterfield also held a position as Manager of Nuclear Cyber Security for Energy Future Holdings at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant. Here her primary focus was creating a compliance program later acclaimed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspectors for technical and administrative controls. She ensured various automated and manual processes maintained compliance to external regulations such as 10CFR 73.54, NEI 08-09, NERC/CIP, and PCI.
Beyond her heritage in energy, Ms. Satterfield also spent 11 years at Verizon Communications working on application security and incident response.
