Adriana Sanford, J.D., Dual LL.M.

Award-Winning Global Privacy Laws Expert; Chilean-American International TV Commentator; Former Fortune 10 Regional Counsel; Former CNN Español Analyst

Born in Orange County, Adriana Sanford, J.D., dual LL.M. is a Chilean American international TV commentator, a former CNN Español analyst, a university professor, and a former Fortune 10 regional counsel. She provides the keynote addresses at some of the world’s top technology, IT, cyber, security, legal, and compliance industry conferences. Sanford is an American Program Bureau speaker, who has served as a keynote speaker at more than 140 industry conferences, including for the Association Corporate Counsel on issues of importance to in-house counsel, such as the multi-jurisdictional practice of law.

Her research, scholarly work, and publications focus on laws, regulations, and policy at the international level, where multijurisdictional legal conflicts exist and possible outcomes for corporate noncompliance include high penalties, criminal liability, and physical danger for executives in foreign territories. Sanford was the lead author of two books on global threats that were adopted by the Institute for Supply Management. She currently co-produces and cohosts The Sanford & Hall Report with retired Rear Admiral Garry E. Hall (USN) and serves as Of Counsel at a leading Chilean law firm, Puga Ortiz Abogados.

Sanford was featured in Women in Security: Changing the Face of Technology and Innovation in 2018; is the recipient of the 2019 Cybersecurity / Privacy Woman Law Professional of the Year Award; and is the keynote for the 2022 Cybersecurity Woman of the Year GALA in Las Vegas.

Sanford has also served as a member of the World Economic Forum Advisory Committee for the Partnering Against Corruption initiative in Latin America, on the Board of Directors at Amnesty International USA, as chair of The University of Oklahoma Global Risks & Threats Series Leadership Forum, as a Senior Fellow at OU’s Center for Intelligence & National Security, and as a Lincoln Professor of Global Corporate Compliance & Ethics at Arizona State University. She currently serves as Head of Global Cybersecurity Leadership for Telecom4Good and on the Advisory Board of ISSA-Los Angeles. With multiple law degrees and fluency in four languages, Sanford provides training on global privacy laws throughout the Americas.
